Media: Mardi Larson, 612/683-3538 Financial: Brad Allen, 612/683-7395 CRAY RESEARCH GETS LARGE ORDER FROM FRENCH ATOMIC ENERGY COMMISSION EAGAN, Minn., April 24, 1995 -- Cray Research, Inc. (NYSE: CYR) announced today that it has received a large order for multiple systems from the Commissariat a l'Energie Atomique, Division de Applications Militaires -- the military research division of the French Atomic Energy Commission. The order was received in first quarter and includes Cray's newest high-end supercomputer, a CRAY T932 system slated to be installed later this year at the commission's computer center near Paris. Terms were not disclosed. The CRAY T932 system is the largest configuration in the new CRAY T90 Series of parallel vector processing (PVP) supercomputers, which were unveiled earlier this year. The CRAY T932 is capable of scaling to 32 processors and a peak speed of more than 60 billion calculations per second. The French Atomic Energy Commission's order is for 24 processors with upgrade potential of eight additional processors. The new Cray equipment will replace existing Cray Research systems, French Atomic Energy Commission officials said.
